We've been on the house tour several times so on this trip we just wanted to visit the winery and surrounding shops. They sell tickets to the state house saying its by appointment only. Be prepaired to do some walking. Not too handicap friendly. Long distances from Handicap parking lots with uphill grades hard on those pushing wheel chairs. Had it been a good day my coments may have been better. The inside of the mansion was as beautiful as I had remembered it. This is a really great place to visit but quite expensive. We visited during the pandemic, and unfortunately many attractions that were supposed to be included closed down early with no notice.
It was very disappointing because we had planned to spend more time there. It is a beautiful place. I think I would like to go back one day and get the whole experience. It is an amazing property. We did the Legacy of the Land tour and I did the Rooftop tour as well as the house tour.
We also ate at the Stable Restaurant for lunch. A little pricey, but fun to do if you want the ambiance. We had a great 2n stay here, on what was our first visit to Asheville. The quality was microwave style foods which didn't taste very good, but to each its own. I appreciate the variety in the options they did have so there is something for several palettes.
